There are many local lakes for swimming or fishing. St-Estephe, St. Saud, Videix, St-Laurent-Sur-Gorre. The nearest being ‘Le Grande Lac St Mathieu' which has a manmade beach for swimming, & pedal boats for hire, also very popular for those interested in fishing. For enthusiastic walkers, marked routes can be found ranging from 4 to 40 km. Nearby at Bussiere-Galant is Le Plan d’eau which has 12km. of Velo-rail . which operates on the ancient railway line also crazy golf & very popular is the Acro-bois assault course, & new in 2010 a zip-line which crosses the lake.
Due to our central location in the heart of France, the Limousin is an ideal base to explore the surrounding regions, such as the Atlantic coast or to the east the Massif Central. To the south east is Lascaux famous for its prehistoric cave paintings in the Périgord region. All these can easily be visited on a day trip.

In the area
Our holiday homes are in the Parc natural regional Perigord-Limousin.
Which is in the Haute Vienne department of the Limousin region in France. With its lush green valleys and forests filled with sweet chestnut & oak trees. Depending on the season a vast variety of mushrooms can be found in the wooded areas, Cepes, Girolles & Trompette des morts to name just a few.
This area of unspoilt natural beauty is ideal for all outdoor leisure activities, horse riding, fishing, cycling & walking... all these can be done on the quiet country lanes which are marked by the local communes.
