La Grange and La Petite Maison are situated in the small hamlet of Loutre tucked away in the Parc Naturel Regional Perigord/ Limousin region, approximately 30 minutes south west of Limoges Airport, yet ideally situated for all local services and tourist attractions.
Loutre takes its name from the river Loutre which winds its way through the picturesque valley, where there's an abundance of wildlife to be seen close by, such as deer, (literally on the doorstep) wild boar, pine marten, red squirrels, coypu which live on the river banks, & dormice. For those interested in water sports nearby Brantome provides the perfect setting for canoeing on the river Dronne that runs through the town, with many riverside restaurants. Canoes can be hired by the hour or the day. (Market - Friday morning)
Take the Route of Richard the Lion Heart and see numerous Chateaux. Nearby Chateau de Brie, Chateau Montbrun or Chalus where King Richard ended his life.
